Mid 1920s he took over Watsons of Hunstanton and ran both factories until his untimely death at the age of 42 in 1938, winning both gold and silver medals for his drinks during that time. His Widow ran the business through the 1939/45 war supplying RAF and Army camps as well as local pubs etc. The Hunstanton factory was closed for security reasons during that time, and the Lynn factory was the only one of five in the town to remain open throughout the war. After WW11 the two sons took over and combined both factories into a new purpose built one on the Lynn Hardwick Estate in 1964 and production continued there until 1971 when the factory was sold and the firm moved to Hunstanton, trading from there as wholesalers finally closing in 1984.
