He continued brewing up until his retirement in 1820. Following his retirement two Stewards joined his son in the firm and became Steward, Patteson and Steward. In 1837 they bought out Peter Finch and became Steward, Patteson and Finch. In 1895 they became a limited company and began trading as Steward & Patteson Ltd, the company then took over from Morse and Woods at Swaffham in 1895. In 1961 the company joined Bullards in a joint take over of Morgans. Then in 1963 Steward & Patteson was taken over by Watney Mann Ltd. |
